French Empire Style ROll TOP DEsk

A very large desk, 2 meters accross.  Probably late Restauration.  I'll be working on this desk this fall.  This includes bronze cleaning, some light repair, and an assesment of its age and originality.  This will provide you with an example of how to date 19th century furniture.

The mounts are obviously replated, but are they original?  Purchased because it fits a queen matress!

Commode by Bernard Molitor

While not stamped, this commode is identical in form and major mounts to a stamped example sold at Sothebys.  Molitor made his own mounts, making it easier to identify and attribute Molitor furniture. Part of a 3-piece suite

A large chair made of solid mahogany, no veneer.  A rare bargain from the Marche Aux Puces.

Very elegant.  While the legs are thick, they have kept it from the damage a more delecate stand might endure.
