Empire and Restauration lighting

19th Century Empire/Restauration style lighting is quite striking, as you can see from the photos below I prefer the contrast of gilt and patinated bronze. In each case, I disassembled the chandeliers and cleaned the gilded bronze parts with boiling water as described in the page on bronze cleaning. The completely gilded Restauration chandelier is a beast, almost 5' tall and about 39" in diameter.
